PennyDrops is a student-run non-profit organization that champions financial literacy among Canadian youth—Backed by BMO.

I created educational content, recruited and trained university students, co-created a podcast, mentored high school students and advised university chapters across Canada.

MY IMPACT

Initially, I joined PennyDrops when they were creating their Concordia University chapter in the Fall of 2019.

Over the course of that year, I developed content for our social media, mentored students in local high schools in the city of Montreal, and worked with professors from the John Molson School of Business to create educational material centred around better understanding taxes, scarcity and other financial literacy concepts.

After successfully implementing and achieving the goals we set in place, I was fortunate enough to join the national team which, to this day, manages 18 chapters in universities across Canada. (National team impact: 2,750+ university students, 1,250+ university mentors, 380+ high school classrooms, 10,000+ students being taught on a yearly basis.)

During my time on the national team as a marketing director, I created educational content through the collaboration of students and professors, while mentoring high school students on the importance of financial literacy by covering topics such as taxes, banking, credit and investing. I also recruited and trained university student mentors for our high school financial literacy program, while advising 3 of our 17 chapters, in Alberta and British Columbia, in regards to their marketing material and campaigns.

Subsequently, I co-founded and co-produced the PennyDrops podcast. I also helped with the initial creation of PennyDrops Anywhere, our online learning platform dedicated to helping high schools students develop their financial literacy skills remotely.
